Charlotte Charbonnel’s work explores the invisible connections linking the elemental materials of the universe. Her practice is rooted in an empirical approach: capturing natural phenomena, investigating states of matter, and observing elusive substances. She finds a field of experimentation in unstable forms—fluids, waves, clouds, and smoke—tracing, recording, and collecting their manifestations.

Her research extends to the vibrations and sounds of materials, where sound becomes a means of transmission and perception. When engaging with architecture, she adopts a quasi-geological approach, revealing hidden layers, flows, and energies within structures. Through open-ended processes that embrace movement and indeterminacy, her work reflects on the fundamental components of the universe.
