On January 18, 2025, the Labs Gallery in Bologna will inaugurate the exhibition Observatorium by Elisabeth Scherffig. This marks the first time the German artist, born in Düsseldorf in 1949, will showcase her work in the Bologna-based venue. The exhibition features around twenty pieces dating from the 1970s to the present, exploring Scherffig's operational methodology. A meticulous observer of her surroundings—be it natural, urban, organic, or inorganic—Scherffig employs drawing, casting, and sculpture to investigate her environment. The exhibition is curated by art historian Angela Madesani.
