Born in Argentina, Valeria Maculan lives and works between Madrid and Buenos Aires. Her practice, that spans between sculpture, installation, and performance, investigates concepts such as identity, otherness, the individual and and the collective, challenging the cultural and social structures that shape our perception of the world. 

By placing the body at the center of her research and actively involving the audience, Maculan creates works that spark relationships and participatory processes. Her recent work explores the representation of human and non-human bodies, weaving together references to avant-garde theater, philosophy, and feminist theory.
